2/16/11 Congratulations to Daniel "big D" Martinez on being the first Knight under Coach Vickers and Coach Behrendsen to place at the state tournament.  He was the sixth place finisher at Heavyweight in AAA.

3/1/11 Sign ups are beginning for USA Wrestling.  Don't delay, check out the "forms" section to see what you need to print out. 

3/28/11 Practice may or may not be cancelled spring break week.  Parents if you hear of or want to post anything of importance, please let me know and I will put it here.  Don't want to forget to give a shout to Roger and Leslie.  Roger placed 5th at freshman state and Leslie placed 1st at girls state. 

Parents, I highly encourage you to get your kids signed up as soon as possible if you want them to have an enjoyable experience.  Coming in late, and as in late, I would say after april seventh, would mean your child has to learn a lot very quickly and that can be frustrating. 

Also, please have everything printed out and filled out, dues and USA card ready for the first practice.  I can have some flexibility with the dues the first day, but not the USA card.  We need a copy of it.  Info on printing the USA card out is on one of the applicable FORMS for your childs age group.  Other than that, already have a couple younguns in the practice room, hope to get many more on thursday. 

I also encourage you to come see a practice if you are on the fence.  We work the kids hard, and they learn a lot.  Feel free to be added to our email list by sending me an email at david.behrendsen@hallco.org.

4/20  A couple new additions to our family, Shawn and Matthew, both about 65 pounds in the school boy division.  Wish Regan luck as he registers for his first tournament this weekend at East Paulding High School. 

4/22  Coach Vickers and I are starting to plan for summer 2011.  Our goal is to "Uphold the Code".  To truly be a knight one has to live his/her life a certan way.  This summer we want to make knights out of each of the wrestlers in our family.  After this summer I garuantee that each wrestler will be a prouder more battle ready athelete and person.  Details and schedules coming in may.  Lets bring it!!!!

4/23  Congratulations to our first Junior Knight, Regan Byrd.  He won his first, and THE FIRST EVER, Junior Knight USAW freestyle match. We are extremly proud.

4/28  This weekends tourney @ Chattooga High.  Remember practice on mondays and thurdays 6-8 pm.  We are definitely getting shirts for the team in may.  If you aren't attending don't expect any threads!!!  We had 3 new (but experienced) young kids join monday.  The excitement level in the practice room is continuing to grow.  Lets keep it up!!!  PRACTICE THIS SUMMER WILL BE FROM 7:30 TO 10:30.  MAT TIMES FOR YOUNG AND OLD KIDS WILL MOST LIKELY BE FROM 7:30 TO 8:30.  MORE NEWS TO COME IN MAY.

5/10 Heratige High school this weekend.  Remember to see me if you need help registering.  Check out the summer wrestling link for information for hs and ms wrestlers.  k-5 can have some mat time from 8:30 to 9:30 am, at the davinci gym most likely.  June 6th will be the start date for this. No fees, but all parents and wrestlers are strongly encouraged to participate in summer fundraising.

8/10  Our wrestling family will be getting together for a cookout at the JHS fieldhouse from 2pm to 4pm this sunday, the 14th.  If you would like to volunteer one of the following, please email coach Behrendsen at david.behrendsen@hallco.org

11/18 LAST CHANCE FOR HYDRATION TEST TO JOIN JHS WRESTLING TEAM!!!!!

THE DOCTOR WILL BE AT BRENAU UNIVERSITIES FITNESS CENTER MONDAY 11/28 FROM 330 TO 5 PM.  BE THERE WITH 10 DOLLARS IN HAND, EARLY!!!!  COACHES WILL NOT PROVIDE TRANSPORTATION.  THIS IS THE LAST AND FINAL CHANCE TO JOIN THE WRESTLING TEAM!!!  MAKE SURE YOU DRINK PLENTY OF WATER THE MORNING AND AFTERNOON BEFORE YOU GO OR YOU WILL FAIL THE ASSESMENT!!!!

2/1/2012  In 3 days the Knights will be wrestling at the area tournament.  Will this be another year of firsts?  Where the knights send TWO OR MORE wrestlers to sectionals?????   Come and find out!  And USA wrestling season is fast approching.  Download the USA wrestling handbook for directions on how to buy and print your usa card.  We start in march.  Lets make some noise all over ga!!!  PRACTICES START THE FIRST OR SECOND WEEK OF MARCH. Look at the forms section and get it done!!  No one practices with out the proper paperwork.  Matt Moulder is a great coach, and I'd let him coach my own kids gladly but I live too far away :(....   I'll be driving to every tournament on satrudays as a referee, so I can be of assistance if carpool is needed.
