1. 4th and 5th Grade Art Show
4th and 5th grade will be having an artshow, May 14th, 2010. After the 4th and 5th grade Music Show, all 4th and 5th grade framed artwork will be on sale. This art show will be like the artshows we have had in the past, but it will only be for 4th and 5th grade as opposed to the whole school. This night will be a test run for next year, and if all goes well, the art show will be split by that grade level's PTO night next year. I am hoping it will relieve some of my stress, as well as provide a more formal art show experience.

2. Art SHOW!!
Everything is coming together for the art show! We have tons of beautiful work to display! Many thanks in advance to the teachers who will be helping me get all of this together!! Students have worked extremely hard to create awesome artworks for the community to see! Hope to see you there on November 5th from 6:30pm to 8:00pm!

3. First of the year!
Wow! The first of the year has been flying by! The art show is only 5 weeks away and I feel like there are too many things to think about all at once! We are still working on a display problem that seems like it will never get fixed! But it will I'm sure! I hope I can get everyone finished with their artwork in time for them to pick their favorite to put in the art show! After we finish the art show, we will be working on artwork to display at the Hall County Board of Education in January! Only 7 pieces of artwork get to be displayed so I must choose one from each grade level to be displayed, with the exception of 5th grade, who get to have two! In addition, students will begin using thier journals regularly! We will also be taking pictures of everyone's artwork to put on www.artsonia.com for display and fundraising efforts! Get ready! The whirlwind of a year has only just begun!

4. Tie-Dye Fun
The first two art club meetings have been a blast! The kids had a great time despite some stained arms. I can't wait to see what our shirts look like. I will be cutting the rubber bands off the shirts tonight.
I asked the students to also come up with ideas for fixing an ugly window near the art room. I was amazed at the ideas they came up with. The ideas were so good that it is going to be easy to merge all of them as one. We will be decorating it as a stained glass window. Things we will include in the design of the window are: Riverbend Hornets, Art, Music, Computer, PE, general education, cultural diversity, and will be signed by the artist.
